Janice McMillan, CRA, P. App.
Janice is the owner/operator of Alexander McMillan Real Estate Appraisal Services and began appraising in 1995 as a Candidate with the Appraisal Institute of Canada. She obtained her CRA designation in 2004. Janice worked for the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) from 2000-2004, where she entered back into the private sector by purchasing Alexander Real Estate Appraisal Inc., where she had previously worked for 5 years.
Janice is currently an active member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, as a peer reviewer on the National Board. She is a past chairman of the Kingston Chapter of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Janice specializes in rural residential work, including but not limited to matrimonial, capital gains and estate work located within the Counties of Leeds, Grenville and Dundas. Janice has appeared as an expert witness at the Ontario Superior Court. She currently mentors the candidate members in our office.
Karen Goodenough, Office Administrator
Karen has been the administrative assistant with Alexander McMillan Real Estate Appraisal Services since 2017. She is a graduate of St. Lawrence College, with a Legal Secretarial Diploma. She worked in the legal field, assisting with estate administration for 10 years. Karen is the first person you will be in contact with at our office and is always willing to assist with all of our client’s needs. Karen handles all the billing for the company and provides administrative support to all of the appraisers.
Rebecca (Becky) Hodges, AIC Candidate Member
Becky joined Alexander McMillan Real Estate Appraisal Services in January, 2021. She is a Candidate Member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Becky specializes in a variety of property types, some of which include single family residential dwellings, duplexes, triplexes, condominiums, semi-detached and vacant land. Becky is insured through The Appraisal Institute of Canada and all reports are completed to AIC Standards. Becky is currently working towards her CRA designation with the University of British Columbia.
Krista Loye, AIC Candidate Member
Krista is our newest appraiser, joining the team in December, 2022, covering the Gananoque & Kingston areas. Krista worked as a police officer in Kingston for ten years and has been a real estate broker for five years. Her knowledge and familiarity of the area gives her a well-equipped understanding of our client’s needs. She is a Candidate Member of The Appraisal Institute of Canada. Krista specializes in a variety of appraisal property types, including single family residential dwellings, duplexes, triplexes, condominiums, semi-detached and vacant lands. Krista is insured through the Appraisal Institute of Canada and all reports are completed to AIC Standards. Krista is currently working towards her CRA designation with the University of British Columbia.
